Toen de oorlog uitbrak ging ze weer bij haar moeder wonen. Haar moeder had zich aangesloten bij de verzetsbeweging en het huis fungeerde als doorgangshuis voor allerlei spullen. Ze maakte meerdere invallen van de Japanners mee. De geïnterviewde vertelt over de gevaarlijke bersiaptijd. Uiteindelijk vertrok de geïnterviewde naar Nederland. De geïnterviewde gaat in op de situatie toen, hoe zij haar leven hier weer moest opbouwen.</p><p>1084.2 De geïnterviewde vertelt in dit gesprek meer uitgebreid over haar jeugd en familie. Ze vertelt hoe de situatie veranderde tijdens de bezetting. Ze beschrijft de sociale verhoudingen tussen Hollanders en Indiërs.Indonesische familie werd verzwegen en weggestopt. De geïnterviewde gaat in op de positie van Indonesische vrouwen. Na de oorlog veranderde de houding naar Indonesiërs. Ze vertelt verder over de bersiaptijd. Men koos ervoor om geen onderzoeksproject op te zetten, maar om zich te concentreren op het verzamelen van de verhalen van mensen vanuit archiveringsoogpunt als basis voor toekomstig onderzoek. Tussen 1997 en 2001 zijn er 1190 interviews met 724 mensen opgenomen, in totaal 2800 uur aan geluidsmateriaal.</p><p>Een overzicht van het project en de interviews in EASY vindt u onder 'Data files'.</p><p>De interviews worden bij DANS duurzaam bewaard, maar worden (voorlopig) door het KITLV zelf ontsloten.
