Zij vertelt over ervaringen uit haar jeugd. De geïnterviewde vertelt hoe zij het verschil tussen Hollands en Indisch niet van huis uit meekreeg. De oorlogsdreiging was bij haar op afstand gehouden. De bezetting was een klap. De geïnterviewde kwam bij het verzet. Het Rode Kruis diende als dekmantel. Uiteindelijk werd zij gearresteerd. Ze vertelt over haar nare ervaringen in gevangenschap. De geïnterviewde gaat in op hoe mensen elkaar hielpen en hoe belangrijk vertrouwen en steun is.</p><p>1199.2 De geïnterviewde geeft nog een beschrijving van haar tijd in de gevangenis. Ze vertelt over de bersiap tijd. Ze maakte allerlei gevaarlijke situaties mee.  De geïnterviewde koos voor een gevaarlijke tocht op weg naar veiligheid. Uiteindelijk kwam zij aan in Singapore.I n 1948 woonde zij met haar man op een onderneming vlakbij de demarcatielijn. Men koos ervoor om geen onderzoeksproject op te zetten, maar om zich te concentreren op het verzamelen van de verhalen van mensen vanuit archiveringsoogpunt als basis voor toekomstig onderzoek. Tussen 1997 en 2001 zijn er 1190 interviews met 724 mensen opgenomen, in totaal 2800 uur aan geluidsmateriaal.</p><p>Een overzicht van het project en de interviews in EASY vindt u onder 'Data files'.</p><p>De interviews worden bij DANS duurzaam bewaard, maar worden (voorlopig) door het KITLV zelf ontsloten.
