Tijdens de Japanse inval was hij vlieger. Hij werd krijgsgevangene gemaakt en tewerkgesteld in Japanse mijnen.</p><p>1439.2 De geïnterviewde had in Indië verschillende functies en werkte onder andere voor de Nederlands-Indische Hypotheekbank. Men koos ervoor om geen onderzoeksproject op te zetten, maar om zich te concentreren op het verzamelen van de verhalen van mensen vanuit archiveringsoogpunt als basis voor toekomstig onderzoek.
