Hij was toen scholier. In 1943 werd hij voor een aantal maanden geïnterneerd. Na de Japanse capitulatie meldde de geïnterviewde zich vrijwillig aan als hulppolitieagent. Hij gaat in op de patrouilles in kampongs die hij tijdens de bersiap bij de politie helpt uitvoeren. Tot slot vertelt hij over de soevereiniteitsoverdracht en over zijn vertrek naar Nederland in 1962.</p><p>1587.2 De geïnterviewde vertelt over zijn verschillende werkzaamheden in de periode vanaf 1942. Men koos ervoor om geen onderzoeksproject op te zetten, maar om zich te concentreren op het verzamelen van de verhalen van mensen vanuit archiveringsoogpunt als basis voor toekomstig onderzoek.
