Daarna vertrok hij op De Volendam naar Indië. Hij was motormonteur voor de Catalina's en vloog regelmatig mee en kwam zo over de hele archipel. Tijdens de politionele acties vloog hij boven de troepen. In 1957 werd hij uitgezonden naar Nieuw Guinea, naar Biak. In die tijd zijn er meerdere  Martin Mariners neergestort. De geïnterviewden hebben bijgedragen aan een schat aan informatie voor onder andere beleidsmakers, onderzoekers, media en het geïnteresseerde publiek.</p><p>Onderstaand treft u de links naar de metadata van alle interviews. De  interviews zijn om privacyredenen alleen na toestemming van het Veternanen Instituut toegankelijk.
