Na de oorlog ging zij in Leiden Indisch recht studeren en kwam na haar afstuderen terug naar Indonesië. In 1951 begon de geïnterviewde haar carrière bij de Nederlands Indische Handelsbank in Djakarta waar ze procuratiehouder werd. Omdat ze na haar huwelijk in 1954 niet meteen kinderen kreeg bleef ze er tot 1958 werken tot het moment dat ze gedwongen het land verliet.</p><p>De echtgenoot van de geïnterviewde is ook geïnterviewd voor het SMGI-project. Men koos ervoor om geen onderzoeksproject op te zetten, maar om zich te concentreren op het verzamelen van de verhalen van mensen vanuit archiveringsoogpunt als basis voor toekomstig onderzoek.
