Hij vertelt over zijn ervaringen in het onderwijs. Tijdens de bezetting werd hij als burger geïnterneerd. Hij vertelt over de evacuatie vanuit Magelang tijdens de bersiap tijd. Hij hielp hier bij. In 1947 vertrok hij met zijn gezin naar Nederland, maar moest datzelfde jaar weer terugkeren naar Indië als leraar.</p><p>1438.2 De geïnterviewde vertelt over zijn werkzaamheden als ambtenaar in verband met het onderwijs na terugkeer in Indië en gaat in op de spanningen in de koloniale maatschappij. De geïnterviewde heeft zich sterk gemaakt voor democratie in de vakvereniging. Men koos ervoor om geen onderzoeksproject op te zetten, maar om zich te concentreren op het verzamelen van de verhalen van mensen vanuit archiveringsoogpunt als basis voor toekomstig onderzoek. Tussen 1997 en 2001 zijn er 1190 interviews met 724 mensen opgenomen, in totaal 2800 uur aan geluidsmateriaal.</p><p>Een overzicht van het project en de interviews in EASY vindt u onder 'Data files'.</p><p>De interviews worden bij DANS duurzaam bewaard, maar worden (voorlopig) door het KITLV zelf ontsloten.
